The Chamber’s volunteer committees are listed below.  All meetings take place at the Chamber office at the St. Mary’s Regional Airport, 44200 Airport Rd., California, MD.  New members are always welcome–if interested in serving on one or more committees, please contact the Chamber office.  To download the Chamber’s “Membership Services Handbook” with additional information on events, advertising opportunities, etc., click here: Member Handbook

Ambassadors Committee

Organizes and conducts ribbon cuttings and assists with Chamber events.  Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m.  Click here to download our Ribbon Cutting Guide.

Business Showcase Committee

Organizes the Business Showcase held annually in May.  Meets monthly beginning in November until the Showcase in May, with a wrap-up meeting in August.

Golf Committee

Plans the Golf Outing held annually in June.  Meets as necessary from March until June.

Government Affairs Committee

Monitors the General Assembly in Annapolis, reviews proposed bills and publishes positions.  Assists with the Chamber’s annual Legislative Breakfast held in February.  Meets on the 4th Wednesday of each month.

Membership Committee

Meets as needed to review membership renewals, makes telephone calls and personal visits to points of contact at businesses that may be considering discontinuing their membership.  Organizes prospect events to attract new members.

Scholarship Committee

Reviews applications for the Chamber Scholarship, given to a St. Mary’s high school senior each year and awarded at the Chamber’s Annual Meeting/Dinner in June.

A Taste of St. Mary’s

Plans the annual “A Taste of St. Mary’s” event, featuring Southern Maryland restaurants and caterers, held each September on the Square in Leonardtown.  Meets on the 3rd Wednesday of each month, April through September.

Tourism & Hospitality Advisory Council

Comprised of individuals employed by Chamber member organizations in the tourism and hospitality industries for the purpose of identifying industry concerns and issues, attracting visitors, and uniting the hospitality industry.  Meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m.  Any Chamber member within the hospitality industry is welcome to attend a meeting or request to join the group as a voting member.
