The Board of Governors of the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center (SMHEC) invites the community to a workshop to explore and discuss the roles of education, technology and innovation in our growing and changing ecosystem. The meeting will take place at the Southern Maryland Higher Education Center, Bldg. 2. Lunch, refreshments and all program information are included. The cost is $25.00 for attendees ($30.00 after 10/11) and $10.00 for speakers and panelists. The deadline for registration is Wednesday, October 11th.
A centerpiece of the meeting will be the unveiling of the design of the new third building, an education and autonomous technology research center, to be completed fall of 2020. The intent of this workshop is to further refine the sense of the community ownership regarding local requirements that an economically diversification-oriented educational/research center can and must fulfill. This embraces the fields of Engineering, Business, Education, Nursing and all the other subject areas we currently address on behalf of our entire community today. To that end, we have divided the day into sessions on: 1) educational synergy, 2) emergent technology and 3) innovation. For further information, click here.
